Dear Secretary/Manager

The League despite what many people think has constantly monitored the amount of fixtures yet to play with the number of weeks available.

After the bad weather over the past two weekends the League applied to extend the first part of the U11's by a week. This had to go to the FA because U11 competitive elements are only meant to last 6 weeks. This has been granted and will now as outlined yesterday need all results submitted on a timely basis to allow the U11 registrar to get all the fixtures of the final Competition starting on the 22nd March on Fulltime as quick as possible. Teams therefore will probably not be able to comply with the notification period for fixtures on that date. Therefore we ask clubs to liaise with each other on a timely basis as soon as the fixtures are known, so all the games on the 22nd can go ahead as scheduled.

For U12's to U17's I sat and worked out how many matches were still to be played in each division of every age group and with only 10 Sundays left looked at where the major problems were with teams having 11 games plus left. I then looked to see if the League Presentation dates could be moved/altered to accommodate an extension to the season before applying to the Sheffield & Hallamshire for such an extension. The Sheffield & Hallamshire granted an extension this morning and as a result of being able to delay 2  presentations nights and a rejig of others an extension has been possible as follows based on which age groups have the most problems and so the extensions are as follows.

U12's until 3rd May with their presentation evenings being the 11th & 12th May

U13's to the 17th May with their presentations being on the 25th/26th May

U14's to the 10th May with their presentations being on the 18th/19th May

U15's to the 10th May with their presentations being on the 20th/21st May

U16's/U17's to the 17th May with their presentations being on the 22nd May

The U7 to U10 Fair Play presentations will be the 4th May and the U11's the 13th May.

As you can tell the turnaround dates between season end and presentation evening are now very tight, although teams will be invited as soon as they are confirmed if it's before the above revised dates. As a way of making this happen and because the U13's age have the most problems their presentation evenings are now in the School holidays! Though as usual teams will be offered alternate nights if they can't attend their dedicated evening. So prompt acknowledgement of invitations to the presentation evenings will be required given the tight timescales but I'm sure those attending can live with this request.

With these new deadlines comes potential further issues with any playoffs for Championship, Relegation or promotion as these may not be known until fairly late on and may be needed to be played at short notice and in some instances could be after the 17th of May. Your cooperation in arranging games at short notice may be required as a result of this extension being given. Again I trust that teams will see this as a compromise worth doing should the need arise.
