Does your organisation work with council tenants or in and around council housing estates in Sheffield
Do you have an idea for an exciting, innovative project which would benefit council tenants that you would like to launch? Sheffield City Council's Community Fund is open to applications from community groups wanting to make a difference in their neighbourhood.
Deadline - 31st August
Virgin Money Foundation want to support community regeneration by backing people who can make big changes happen locally.
Every three months, they give three local community organisations the chance to win £2,000 - with an award of £1,000 for the winning organisation, and £500 each for the two runners-up. There is a voting unit in the Sheffield Lounge and the awards will go to the community organisations with the most votes from Virgin Money customers and Lounge members. Funds can be used to buy materials and equipment, make improvements to a community building or sports facility, clean up an area of wasteland or support an event. The money could also pay for staff to run an activity.
They support projects; run by smaller local community organisations with annual running costs of less than £500,000, with strong local roots, or that benefit the wider community.
