The  League has received the following email:

I was privileged to be part of the U11 Finals last Sunday at Rawmarsh (Wickersley Youth Blue v Beighton Magpies Yellow – Plate;  Bolsover Town v Millhouses - Crown). I felt that I must bring these games to your attention. Could you please circulate this via the usual channels.

Both were really enjoyable, exciting, end to end games with some great attacking play, great defending and great goalkeeping – enough goals, tackles and saves to keep everyone on the edge of their seats and send them home happy !!

The commitment, desire, enthusiasm, spirit and sportsmanship shown by the players on the pitch was more than matched by the positive encouragement and support from the managers, coaches and families on the sidelines !!

Although there had to be winners and losers on the day in terms of the results, in my mind everybody who was involved in this great occasion was only a winner.

If the children display the same characteristics and qualities shown on the day in their future lives, then we may have a few budding stars in the making !!!

All in all, a big well done to everyone involved for a brilliant day’s entertainment !   I for one needed a long lie down to recover !

I’d also like to give a mention to all the League officials who work so tirelessly (these events don’t just happen !), Alison Lewis (for putting up with me all day) and lastly, but by no means least, to Tony Pemberton and Rawmarsh St Joseph’s for being such warm and friendly hosts.
