On the 17th January 2019, TRA Performance Education and Sheffield Hallam University are holding youth exercise and health conference for coaches and trainers from all sports.

Proceeds go to The Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity and tickets are just £25.

 

Who is this event aimed at?

The event is aimed at grass roots and academy coaches, as well as personal trainers and sport scientists. It features some of the best practitioners and sports coaches from around the UK.

As football coaches it is important that we deliver the safest, most effective training to our teams. Not only does great coaching help to improve performance, it also developshealth, confidence and even academic ability. Over the last few years there have been numerous developments around the way we should approach children’s exercise and training – from strength training, to specialization. 

The world of youth science is moving fast!

The aim of this classroom-based conference is to provide education relating to youth exercise, and to break down the barriers and obstacles that we face when providing the most effective exercise strategies to young people, inside and outside of competitive sport.

Speakers:

Professor David Morley: Head of Academy of Sport and Physical Activity and Professor of Youth Sport and Physical Activity

Luke Jenkinson: Strength and Conditioning Coach at Derby County Football Club 

Ash Cox: Director of Redwood Institute, Youth Exercise Education Organisation

Helen Collins: Sport and Exercise Scientist at University of Dundee
