Welcome to our Safer Internet Day 2018 November newsletter

We will bring you regular updates about Safer Internet Day (SID) 2018 - how to get involved and celebrate the day

About Safer Internet Day (SID) 2018

Safer Internet Day 2018 takes place on Tuesday 6th February 2018. The theme for this year is 'Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you' which will bring people together across the world to celebrate the positive power of the internet.

Safer Internet Day 2017 was bigger than ever. Collectively we reached 42% of UK children and 23% of UK parents and carers. The full impact report for Safer Internet Day 2017 is available here.

Register as a SID 2018 supporter now

We're pleased to announce that you can now register as a Safer Internet Day supporter.

Last year more than 1,600 organisations supported the campaign and we need your help to make Safer Internet Day 2018 even bigger!

You can help make Safer Internet Day the biggest yet by planning how your organisation can reach as many people as possible on the day and inspire them to 'Create, Connect and Share Respect'. You can also reach out to schools, partners and wider to encourage even more organisations to get behind the day.

Regional Stakeholder Events

As we prepare for Safer Internet Day 2018, we are hosting a number of regional stakeholder events for organisations wishing to take part in supporting the day to get together and share ideas.

The events will be taking place in:

·    Cardiff on 8th November - more information and register

·    Edinburgh on 8th December - more information and register

·    Northern Ireland on 11th December - details to follow soon

Last year our SIDTV videos were a huge success, being viewed more than 1million times.

Filming is now under way for this year's videos, which we hope to launch before the end of 2017.

Our Safer Internet Day 2017 Thunderclap reached 7.7 million people on social media, with more than 70,000 tweets mentioning Safer Internet Day on the day.

We will be sharing lots of information and content about Safer Internet Day 2018 through our social media channels. Follow us @UK_SIC, and the hashtag #SID2018.
